Turning Stone Day 1

Here I am, still without a computer and pictures, sorry! But there is a business center here at the casino so I can give updates and post pictures later.

First, I have to say this tournament venue is awesome! This set-up is to die for. There is plenty of room between tables and there really isn't a bad seat when it comes to watching matches. I will post a picture of it later.

After a really long players meeting the draw was finally up. My first round match was against Bob Cunningham from somewhere here in NY. The match really wasn't pretty. Both of us started out shaky. With the score tied 3-3 I finally started running more than two balls in a row. My break started cooperating and I ran a couple of racks. The final score was 9-3. Overall I feel like I played alright. The tables are still playing super fast. It will take a couple of days to settle that down!

My next match is tomorrow at noon against Randy Labonte. I know he is a good player from this area. He had a pretty quick 9-0 win earlier. Hopefully I can put up a good fight!

Just to let everyone know, I changed the settings here. I didn't realize that I had comment restrictions. Now anyone can post a comment! Sorry to those of you that tried before. I like the feedback so feel free to comment as much as you want.

Also, here is the video from the pool school in Austin. If I can't give you pictures right now (and don't worry, I took quite a few) at least I can give you a video for now.

  1. Was great to see you, (and Jason), in San Antonio for the Fast Eddies event there. Had a blast covering it. Hope to see you on the tournament trail again soon!

  2. Wow pullin out the tough stuff huh Massey. Now we just need to get you a tux & you can be on ESPN every week. You seemed more comfortable speaking than that guy did, was it his 1st day or was he left speechless by the stunner standing in front of him.

  3. Hey you did great! I would be worthless in front of a tv camera. That dude was struggling though.

  4. You're such a great interviewee! That guy on the other hand... You sure made him nervous. And how do we see the rest of the interview with SVB? Glad you made the shot on the first take. See you soon!

  5. well I have to say it was all thrown together pretty quick so I think Nik (the interviewer) was a little flustered. It was fun though. At least I'm getting a little better at this stuff or at least you guys tell me I am! Samm...you must know, as soon as I got to TX my case pocket broke :( Alright, I will have updates tonight when I get home from work...it's gonna be a long one! Thanks again everyone.
